Higher doses are used at the beginning of most protocols to rapidly induce favorable changes in existing biological environments. However, these changes are not sustainable in time. Non-native biology will rapidly be overcome and outgrown by better adapted species. Maintenance doses are meant to maintain a fresh amount of BiOWiSH® in the system at all times to offset this adaptation pressure offset in biologically competitive environments.
