BiOWiSH<sup>®</sup> products contain a blend of several bacterial genera in active vegetative and sporulated form. Vegetative cells are basically active cells that, when introduced into suitable environments, are capable of quickly achieving exponential growth rates. Spores are a highly resistant protection mechanism that allow the organism to endure adverse environmental conditions (extreme pH and temperatures or food scarcity). Spore-forming organisms are in dormant stage and, provided they sense suitable environmental conditions, will germinate into active cells.
It is important to bear in mind these differences when deciding on the type of dosing to use for different systems. BiOWiSH<sup>®</sup> products require NO activation or acclimatization prior to dosing. All products are formulated and sold ready-to-dose. However, it is important to understand that spore germination will happen in the water system.
